Route-to-Market

Route-to-Market is a high end B2B appointment setting business.

We help clients ranging from one-man (and woman) bands, to large multinationals.
Typically our clients are suffering because they have a great product or service, which they can sell to decision makers, but they're struggling to get in front of those decision makers in the first place.

Often they've tried making their own cold calls but after being told where to go six times in a row the phone goes down and stays down.

I understand this. I've owned a software company for several years and whenever I picked up the phone to telemarket for it myself I took every rejection personally, and even got into arguments with prospects. That company gets great leads now because one of my Route-to-Market team does the calling instead, but I've learnt never to make the calls when one is too close to the product or service.

Recently we've got our clients into some of the biggest companies in the country. Firms like Yves Saint Laurent, Marks & Spencer, UBS, and Reuters just to name a few. In addition, every day we get our clients into firms in the £3m-£20m turnover bracket where these growing companies have a constant need for innovative products and services.

So who do you know who has a great product or service, but struggles to get through the door in the first place?

Right now we work for eighteen companies and this month 100% of our clients rebooked their campaigns.

We employ top quality telemarketers in a fantastic environment. We don't suffer from call-centre churn as we employ business-savvy people who's minds are more important than a script and who can hold a good conversation at director level.

You probably have enough business already, and would never consider taking on more profitable clients... If that's not the case come and join us for a coffee here in Battersea Studios and we'll work out your pitch, your angle and your Route-to-Market

About Me

When I was 16 years old I had no money so I took a job cold calling at £3 per hour. I got no appointments in my first two weeks and had they not had a staff shortage I would have been fired. The next day I got my first appointment. One year later I was capable of booking 43 appointments in a record day and I had a team of over 40 telemarketers working for me in the Bowater Group.

I started a couple of software companies but my strength was always the sales and marketing. Later I worked for Cornhill Publishing who taught me how to sell advertising on a cold call at over £8000 per page, without ever meeting the prospect.

The biggest impact to my sales and marketing career was meeting Marcus Cauchi at NRG. Marcus is far and away the best sales trainer I have ever encountered. His teaching enabled me to more than double my income and Marcus is now responsible for training all my telemarketers.

The team completed when Tim Cook joined me as a director of Route-to-Market. Tim has sold over £6m of sponsorship and is a huge asset to our team.

Personal Interests

Being an entrepreneur I really do live my business, which is my number one passion. Having run businesses I wasn't passionate about in the past it's amazing what happens to you when you have a business you really love.

Outside of the business, my passions are the theatre, art, travel, singing, and fine wine. In addition I've been on commercial radio as a presenter for the past eight years, although I rarely have any time for it now and do just a few specials each year.

I look forward to connecting with you on Ecademy and if you ever want to visit us in Battersea, give me call and drop by.
